Online English Conversation Classes

Speak English with Confidence

Virtually travel the world

At ESL Video, we are passionate about creating lessons that get you talking. We believe the more you speak English, the faster you will learn it. Meet people, make friends, and learn about other cultures. Come join the conversation!

Here’s how it works

Real-life conversation

Hey! We’re online! Talking with people in different parts of the world! So why not use Google Earth, images, and video to “show” what were talking about?

We talk in groups of 3 or 4 people. Classes are 45 to 50 minutes long and while we talk, we share pictures and video which makes communicating easier and more interesting.

Full Access Membership

We offer a variety of classes several times a week. Check out the Class Schedule. Once you become a member, you can join any of the classes that fit your schedule. Try to attend at least one class per week!

Membership costs $15 USD per month. Compared to other English learning websites, we offer the best opportunity for the most affordable price.

Multi-Level Conversation

Our classes are designed for Intermediate (B1) and higher level students. If you can read this, you’re good; our classes are for you.

Because we use Google applications during our classes, you need to have a Google account (gmail). If you don’t have one, it’s very easy to create one.

You can join and participate in classes from a phone or tablet, but honestly you’ll have the best experience if you can join from a computer. Does your computer have a web cam?

Classes

Virtual Travel – Google Maps

In this class we use Google Maps to take each other on a virtual tour of our city. It’s an awesome, personalized way to learn about the world.

First Impressions

The warm up activity for this class is a funny “first date” video clip from the movie Blended. It sets a relaxed tone for this discussion about first impressions. Are first impressions accurate?.

Coffee Talk

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us for some casual conversation. You and your group decide the topics and let the conversation evolve naturally.

Lost At Sea

In this class, you and your group pretend you have been shipwrecked and are stranded in a lifeboat. You need to work together to solve the problem.

International Foods

In this class we create an “International Café menu” with Google Slides and talk about food and eating customs. For example, yes, slurp noodles in Japan. In Korea, don’t eat first unless you’re the oldest person at the table. In Thailand, don’t put your fork in your mouth.

Zoom Escape Room

In this dynamic class our job is to work together to complete a series of tasks before time runs out. It’s a fun and creative way to meet people and learn how to use the Zoom video conferencing platform.

Life Experiences – Present Perfect

Have you ever gone scuba diving? Have you ever seen an eclipse? In this class we review the Present Perfect verb tense while discussing life experiences.
Enjoy a relaxed, fun conversation with great people from around the world.

Conversation with Erica, Pat, and Luiza

Erica, Pat, and Luiza lead this class of diverse topics and tasks. Come join this lively discussion!

Exploring World Cultures

In this class we use Google Images and YouTube to show and tell about what’s popular and traditional in our culture. Come talk about food, hear what song is popular abroad, and learn about local holidays and family traditions.
